We had Tia's akikah, kesyukuran, and cukur jambul last sunday. it was planned, organized and financed by us me from scratch. ok the finance part tu not really cuz the main cost of the kenduri which was the catering, was funded by my wonderful brother:)
Honestly, the last cukur jambul i went to was for my friend's son's akikah early last year. before that, was my cousin's which was 3 years ago. all i know was there was a beautifully made up cradle, a coconut and a pair of scissors on a tray for people to cut baby's hair. what i didnt know was the detail of everything else- the guests, confirmation of guests, doorgifts cukup ke tak, the flow of the occasion, what was done in a marhaban for this type of occasion. now i know, and i cud totally do it again perfectly for the second one:)
However, i'm proud that everything went smoothly in the end. yes it's true that i did most of the work my hubby didnt really care but i couldnt have done it without my family members.
So why is this kenduri means a lot to me? because it celebrates my hard work. as a pregnant lady who carried and processed another human being inside my tummy. as a mother who went through labor and went through surgery as well without being prepared. as a mom who tried her best to breastfeed her baby and went through so much obstacles. and most importantly, to celebrate this brand new human being who had been miraculously and amazingly created by Allah, one that i have seen the development of it thru my doctor's appointments.. from no heartbeat to those rapid ones and from a jumping bean to a tiny being with limbs turning, rolling and kicking about in my tummy.
So, the cradle. yes i have gone a liiitle bit overboard with it. but because i have done the research for it since i was still pregnant. came across one cradle that i absolutely adored and made that wish come true. enough yada-yada lah. here are some pics of our event for u to enjoy:)
